The Field at Mainstone, Hayfield Lane, Wayland, Massachusetts, (called "The Field"), is a luxury townhome development consisting of 16 units and situated off of the west side of Rice Road.
The site, 15.38 acres, is a beautiful parcel of land of which 4 acres are in the "building envelope" with the balance overlooking an open field that is protected forever by a conservation restriction.
The Field is the last phase within the original Mainstone planned development established by special permit issued in 1977. Over 70% (about 255 acres) of the land in the entire Mainstone planned development is subject to Conservation Restriction or owned by the Wayland Conservation Commission. Thus the dwelling units in The Field are surrounded by extensive lands.
Mainstone Farm, owned by the Hamlen family, continues to be an operational farm consisting of 250 acres, which is home to the Belted Galloway cows.
